CMIE’s on-going efforts to evolve its products to make them
more and more user-friendly and technologically superior resulted in the
development of the internet-based version of its classic desktop-based
Prowess installation. This internet-based version is christened Prowess
for Interactive Querying, or Prowess IQ.
The development of ProwessIQ is in response to a long standing demand of
avid Prowess users to port the database from the desktop to the internet
without giving up the querying power of the application. This indeed
was a tough task. In response, CMIE first moved the database to the Web
and launched PACE, or Prowess Application for Credit Evaluation. The
application was found most useful by banks where all information on
companies was just a click away.
Having successfully ported the Prowess database to the Web, CMIE moved
on to make the web-based data queriable. After a long and strenuous haul,
CMIE has now released ProwessIQ, which enables users to simply login
through the internet and access information and query on the most
comprehensive and ever-expanding database on financial performance of
ProwessIQ provides information on a far greater number of companies than
the traditional Prowess desktop application. It also provides far more
information per company. It is free of installation and updation hassles
and is accessible by the user from any computer in the world which has
internet connection. And, he can do so without having to worry about
the location of his files and formulae.
ProwessIQ boasts of several additional features such as faster processing
of queries, time saving mode of processing of queries, activity history
of users, flexibility in viewing reports, additional query triggers,
incorporation of additional disclosures by companies and so on and
With the introduction of the more advanced and user-friendly
ProwessIQ, the traditional classic Prowess desktop application is being
phased out by CMIE. While new subscribers to CMIE’s company information
services can avail of only ProwessIQ, we recommend a quick transition
for the existing subscribers too.
